Teide National Park

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival

Well known as one of the most lively carnivals in the world, this colourful event is held in February. Parades, troupes and extravagant costumes are all essential ingredients in this popular festival.

El Carmen Festival

The festival which honours the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of sailors, takes place in Puerto Colón and other ports in the region in July. The festival features a number of beautiful maritime processions.

Easter

Easter is an important time for religious processions and ceremonies in all the different towns and villages in the south of Tenerife. The processions in Adeje and La Laguna are among the most popular.

A destination of outstanding universal value, Tenerife has been recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Its most notable recognitions include the designation of Teide National Park as a World Heritage Site.
